The Ride to Silence
May 14th, 2013 at 10:29 am   starstarstarstarstar

To honor national bicycle week and all of those killed or injured in bicycle accidents, our own attorney, Sean Murphy will take part in The Ride of Silence in Royal Oak on May 14, 2013.

The Ride of Silence began in Dallas, TX, 10 years ago to bring awareness to cyclists and their legal rights.  The ride was organized after Larry Schwartz, a nationally ranked endurance cyclist was hit by the mirror of a passing bus and killed.

During the ride, cyclists must ride no faster than 12 mph, wear a helmet and remain silent during the entire race.

The Royal Oak Ride of Silence will began at 7pm and will be 10.5 miles beginning at the Royal Oak Fountain. The ride is free and no registration is required.

If you would like to participate, just grab your bike and helmet!

Good Luck Sean!
